With fireworks canceled and clubs looking like an expensive option. [polldaddy poll=4319349]
China may have invented fireworks, but it won’t be firing any in Shanghai this new years eve. According to ShanghaiDaily.com “Popular New Year countdown celebrations at the Bund and Xujiahui areas have been canceled due to safety concerns in the wake of last month’s devastating high-rise blaze in the city.”
As we all know, fireworks are dangerous and should be only used by professionals. However, it seems that while organised firework events may be banned, individuals and amateur pyromaniacs have been given the green light to launch as many as they like. So long as they’re not near “commercial areas, airports, hospitals, schools, and social utilities.”
